As we continue to learn about the Atonement, our study moves to the Life of Christ, the reason He lived, the reason He died, and the tremendous Truth of His Resurrection and return, all this as seen through the writings of one of the all-time great historians, Luke.

Luke has been critically, academically, and archaeologically studied as much as any writing in history.  And it stands!

Thoughts To Consider:

  1. What are those “things accomplished among us” to which Luke is referring?
  2. Who do you think Luke interviewed?
  3. What “eyewitnesses”?
  4. Luke wrote this so that Theophilus could be certain.  Have you ever thought of giving someone a copy of this Gospel so that they could be certain?

Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.
