Jesus prayed . . .
But
There were crowds demanding the Lord’s time, but, He did not allow their demands to overcome righteous priorities.
He would withdraw
Jesus loved the people. More than they could know. And He had compassion for them. And yet, He placed importance on time away from them, and so, He would withdraw.
To desolate places
The Lord spoke the words to David, “Be still and know that I am God.” Jesus could have stepped behind a house, or put out in Simon’s boat, but He knew real stillness was only found by going to desolate places.
And pray.
Connection, communion with the Father – this was that which sustained our Savior. One day, He would be separated from the Father – on our behalf.
Jesus prayed…do you?
Do you:
- Put aside lesser demands?
- Move away from distractions?
- Find stillness?
- And pray?
16 But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.
— Luke 5:16
