Temples of Bible had real purpose, but also a higher ‘hidden’ purpose

V7 – disciples ask about signs of the end times

Jesus answers goes until v36

Bible temple history
David collected materials, God wouldnt let him build it
Solomon built it
Destoyed and rebuilt numerous times thru out Bible times

Temple set fire n soldiers tore down every stone

1 – God let man build temple n he used them
– Even after sin entered world, God created place for God to meet man
– B4 ppl approached God there had to be sacrifice
– Blood atoned sins
– Worship in spirit not a specific location

2 – God is building a temple now n using it
– Current temple isnt a specific location
– 1 peter 2
– Christians individually and collectively are a temple
– Living representation of where God meets man
– Have you meet Jesus? Has He met you?

3 – Greater eternal temple
– Was building
– Is God’s ppl
– Lord is temple. His glory fully revealed / manifested
– Hebrews 9 – temple history, ‘but Christ…’
– Manmade temples has a purpose
– Jesus full sacrifice

Repent
Be His temple
Spend eternity in His glory

5 And while some were speaking of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, 6 “As for these things that you see, the days will come when there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” 7 And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?” 8 And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them. 9 And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”
