Preperation and perseverance

Live as if jesus return is soon
– Daily prep not sudden lifestyle change

Still wednesday of ‘holy week’

Inward prep / outward behavior

How to ppl survive persecution, wars, etc
– Long term – end times
– Shirt term – crucifixion n days after
– Prayer

Jesus follows his own advice of withstanding persecution
– Prayer thru persecution amd death
– Come back to life – as we will

As w/ all miracles, jesus’ resurrection has more than one meaning
– New life
– Shows how to withstand persecution and receive life
– ‘The Way’
– Strength thru Holy Spirit

Prayer
– Continued teaching of jesus
– ‘Teach us to pray’- disciples could see His prayers were different than theirs
– Teaching prayer as a way to live

Pray for
– W/stand persecution
– Evangelism opportunities

Pray w/o ceasing
– Our first response to everything
– Always aware of Gods presence

Bible Verses

34 “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
