Why are we named Three Stones
Why is this church called Three Stones? Jesus taught we should build our house on a firm foundation. Three Stones Church was founded around the following three principles worship, evangelism, and discipleship that are the foundation of our church.
The first “stone” highlighted at Three Stones is Worship. We believe worship exists in those moments when we focus on God at the center of all we are and all we are doing. Corporate worship happens when we assemble for a worship service. Worship is not, however, limited to Sunday mornings, or to a certain building. Worship can, and should, be done alone, with friends, and with your family.
Evangelize is the middle “stone” highlighted at Three Stones. God loves people more than we do. His Holy Spirit leads the way in bringing others to Him. Evangelism means following the work of the Holy Spirit. It means doing our part, as He directs, following His lead.
Discipleship is the third “stone” highlighted at Three Stones. Discipleship is following the pattern of Jesus, the Master Discipler, in helping others find the work God has for them.
The Scriptures Inspired
The Bible, as contained in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible and inerrant rule of faith and conduct.
The One True God
We believe in one, triune, God, Who exists in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Man: His Fall and Redemption
We believe God created man, male and female, in the image of God and free from sin. Due to the fall of Adam and Eve, all people since are born into sin and must be redeemed to be reconciled with God.
The Salvation of Man
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We further believe that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, was purchased by Christ on the cross, and is received by man through faith apart from any human merit, works, or ritual. Salvation results in righteous living, good works, and proper social concern.
