Thoughts to Consider

Jesus was confronting Jewish leaders – showing He was the Messiah

The court of the Gentiles – as close as gentiles could get to God

My house shall be called a house of prayer – from Isaiah

Jews would have known Jesus referencing ‘house of prayer for all people’

Holiness

– thru the holiness do we see the love and mercy and justice of God

– God will clean out unholiness

The time is coming when it wont matter where you go to worship God – Jesus to Samaritan woman

– All Christians are His temple

1 Peter 1:13

– no longer shaped to our ignorant former passions

– when saved we are seen as being sinless

– out of appreciation we attempt to live sinless

– we cant earn it Salvation

– God looks at us and He sees Jesus

– Jesus cleansed our sin by His work on the cross

44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

45 And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”

47 And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, 48 but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.
